My newest short story project is about a man named Gerry Barton who, along with the rest of Planet Earth, is embarking on a 39 year journey to another planet in the Zeta Reticuli star system in a fleet of thousands of ships. Earth has been rendered uninhabitable due to nuclear warfare. After staying in isolation and losing his wife in the first three years of the voyage, he decides to try and fight cabin fever in outer space by forcing himself to socialize. He meets a young woman who, through many different ways, keeps him away from cabin fever and rampancy. But when rumors start circulating that the captain and crew of the ship have mysteriously disappeared, Gerry and the young woman have to find a way to stay sane on a ship that is slowly driving itself toward rampancy and possibly even getting separated from the fleet, getting lost in a vast vacuum, never to be seen again.
